Peppermint Soap

The invigorating and refreshing appeal of peppermint can now be added to your homemade soap making recipe. If you like the crisp, cool, and clean feeling associated with peppermint essential oils, then we are sure you’ll love this simple and easy recipe for making your own soap bars.

Ingredients:

  • Medium to Large Glass Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Peppermint Leaves
  • 1/2 Tsp Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 2 lbs. Glycerin Soap Base
  • Soap Molds
  • Cheesecloth
  • A couple drops of colored liquid soap (optional for adding color or streaks)

Directions:

  1. Cut glycerin soap base into 1″ cubes
  2. Place cubed soap base in medium glass mixing bowl and melt (microwave or over low heat)
  3. Remove glass mixing bowl from heat source and add peppermint leaves, peppermint essential oil, and colored liquid soap if desired. Stir mixture constantly and consistently while adding each of the ingredients and continue until mixed well
  4. Pour mixture into soap molds and set aside
  5. Allow soap molds to rest for 4-8 hours, or overnight
  6. Remove soap bars from molds with caution and care
  7. Wrap in cheesecloth and store in a cool dark place until ready to use
